Plot summary
Charlie Farrow studies law in Boston and works part-time as a mechanic. His boss asks him to deliver a new Porsche to a client in Atlantic City, and near the city the car breaks down. While he waits for repairs, a cab driver mistakes him for a high roller and drops him at an underground casino. There Charlie beats Denny Halloran at poker, and Denny takes exception to the loss. In the scuffle Denny trips over a potted palm and strikes his head on the corner of a counter. Denny is the son of Matt Halloran, the casino's owner, who has much of the police force in his pocket. Charlie is accused of murder and a $50,000 bounty goes on his head. Karen Landers, a witness who knows what happened, agrees to help him.

- Director Geoff Burrowes said he had the worst time of his life making Run, calling the shoot deeply vexatious, though he also said it gave him some of the most exciting experiences of his film life.
- Kelly Preston replaced Tracy Pollan during early filming in May, after Pollan bowed out of the role. A publicist said the part had evolved and both parties agreed she was no longer right for it, and that there were no awful tantrums.
