Plot summary
Dave and Joel have been best friends for decades and share a marriage and family therapy practice. Both men are better at giving advice than at taking it, and each has a marriage that is coming apart. Joel, trying to resolve things with his second wife, Sheryl, is mired in depression and self doubt. Dave has concluded that monogamy is unnatural and that a marriage may be impossible to maintain. He persuades Joel to hire escorts while they attend a San Francisco therapy conference where Dave is to receive a Therapist of the Year Award. A scheming escort named Roxie crosses their path.
