Plot summary
Roving Mars follows the Mars Exploration Rovers, Spirit and Opportunity, through their development, their launch, and their operation. The two machines are uncrewed vehicles, and they transmit images from Mars. Because only a few actual photographs from the planet appear, the film presents much of the story through computer animation made from photographs and data collected by the rovers and by other Mars probes.
