Plot summary
Fleur is a courtesan at a Shek Tong Tsui teahouse when she and Chan Chen-Pang, the wayward son of a Nam Pak Hong merchant family, fall in love. He is already betrothed to his cousin, and the gap in their social standing makes the match impossible; Chan's hopes of a career as a Cantonese opera actor go nowhere. Fifty years later, in 1987, Fleur walks into a Hong Kong newspaper office and asks Yuen to print a missing-person notice for Chan. She is a ghost. Yuen and his girlfriend Chor pay for the advertisement themselves, hoping to bring the two together on 8 March, the anniversary of her death.
