Plot summary
DJ has one holiday left before college, which he spends with his mother Sandy and his stepfather Vincent Gauthier at the family's vacation house in rural Maine. The property is held under another name. Vincent tells DJ that his birth father was unfaithful to Sandy and that she deserved better. In the night Vincent's oldest son Rocco turns up with his pregnant girlfriend Marina and his mother Ruth, Vincent's ex-wife. The next day the blended family's secrets spill out. Ruth describes two men, Leftie and Lonnie, who came to her apartment and threatened her while searching for Rocco. Rocco tells his father what kind of trouble he is in. Vincent promises to raise money so Rocco and Marina can start over somewhere else.
