Plot summary
In 2010, ADGP Mahendran assigns Prakash, a newly appointed DSP trainee, to work under SP Loganathan, and the pair travel from Chennai to Tiruchirappalli with technical assistant Veena. A young woman has been found in the woods, strangled with an iron wire after blows to specific pressure points left her unconscious. Loganathan reads the method as the mark of a serial killer rather than a single act. More adolescent girls are then killed the same way, among them a police constable's daughter, and nothing ties the victims to one another. Loganathan concludes the killer is a psychopath who needs his victims to submit to him, and the officers keep working the case.
