Plot summary
Created by accident a century ago, the Salton Sea is a massive lake in Southern California. It became a popular desert resort where boaters and the Beach Boys mingled in what was called the California Riviera. Today it is an ecological disaster: huge fish die-offs, decaying resorts, and nights that reach 120 degrees. The lake sits just minutes from urban areas. A community of oddballs has made it a refuge.
