Plot summary
Five years after the murders at Robin Hood Hills, the filmmakers return to West Memphis, Arkansas, where Damien Echols is appealing the lethal injection sentence he received for the deaths of three eight-year-old boys. New interviews bring back the convicted men, the original judge and the police investigators, while supporters convinced of the innocence of Echols, Jason Baldwin and Jessie Misskelley Jr. campaign for the three. Echols's defense attorney argues that marks in a photograph of one victim's face are bite marks; the prosecution attributes them to a belt buckle. John Mark Byers, whose son was one of the victims, has grown obsessed with the case and insists the three are guilty.
