Plot summary
Vyacheslav Lazarev has given up commercial aviation for the sake of his family and moved them to the countryside. He still flies, now at the controls of a small AN-2. His son Kolya is at the airfield when a bear cub appears inside one of the planes, and the boy names him Mansur. The cub has escaped from poachers and grows attached to Vyacheslav. When local poachers seize Mansur, Palma, the family's sheepdog, comes to his aid. The dog and the cub need to get home through wooded country where hunters and wild animals are a danger, and the Lazarevs go looking for them.
