In and around London, four men have each run into the limits of British justice. Danny Bryant, a paratrooper back from Iraq and Afghanistan, finds his wife with another man and the streets worse than the places he has served. Gene Dekker, an office worker, is beaten by a driver he collides with. Barrister Cedric Munroe is told to drop his prosecution of club owner and heroin dealer Terry Manning or his pregnant wife will suffer. Student Sandy Mardell has left hospital scarred by attackers who were freed before he recovered.
