Plot summary
Murielle has a promising future when she meets Mounir, and she falls for him. A wedding follows, and the couple set about making a family. Mounir's adoptive father is Doctor Pinget, the man who raised him, and the tie between the two men is the closest in the couple's life. The doctor provides the wealthy home the family lives in. As Murielle brings new life into the household, tension between Mounir and Doctor Pinget builds to boiling point. Murielle cannot pull her husband and children out of the comfort the doctor has given them, and she is drawn into an unhealthy family life.
