Plot summary
Minnie Vernon is a hospital anesthesiologist in her mid-30s, and it is New Year's Eve 1999. She runs into Cameron, the ex-fiancé who says they broke up after she slept with Joe, an old boyfriend of hers. Friends Flick and Max invite her to a party that night at Rodney's home, and she agrees when she learns that Joe will be there. Someone gives her a bottle of rare tequila, and she drinks a sip to calm herself before the party. There Joe has brought Jenny, his American girlfriend.
