Plot summary
In 1994, a fight at the King Sausage Contest in Moppel leaves the butchers Smak and Tuitjes both barred from the competition for twenty-five years. Babs now lives with a family that keeps no meat in the house, and with her brother Tijn. A piglet from a farm becomes her birthday present, and she calls it Oink. Her mother objects to the animal, and Oink ruins the vegetable patch after a bath. Babs refuses to let the piglet go and asks for one more chance, promising to train it. With her grandpa Tuitjes helping, Oink is entered in a pet obedience test.
