Plot summary
A professor has written a complicated computer program intended to improve society by changing the bad behavior of the people it tests. Its effects sometimes spill over: belongings near the machine become deadly metal pinballs that fly at anyone nearby. His shut-in daughter plays with the program as if it were a video game and takes advice from George, a puppet she keeps, about her own decisions. The professor's assistant, allied with a mysterious man, seizes the program and reworks it so that it twists minds and turns people into weapons. She chooses three college girls as her targets and invites them to stay at the house. Two barflies from town tag along, hoping to meet the girls.
