Plot summary
Anne Barron works at a Boston daycare center and attends night classes at Wendell College. She is killed outside the center by someone in a motorcycle helmet. Lt. Judd Austin takes the case. Austin and his partner, Taj, compare the death with a decapitation from the previous week, when a young woman's head was found in a pond. At Wendell, Helene Griffin says Anne was close to Kim Morrison. Kim says Anne has a boyfriend but not who. Austin visits Professor Millett's anthropology class and meets Eleanor Adjai, a British exchange student.

- Night School was listed under the British Board of Film Classification's "Dropped 33" segment of video nasties, and stayed banned on home video in the United Kingdom until June 1985, when it was finally released on VHS with over a minute of footage cut.
- Alfred Sole was originally attached to direct Night School with Vanity in the lead role, but both left over disagreements with writer-producer Ruth Avergon; veteran director Ken Hughes was brought on board at short notice and rewrote the script to add more humor and character development.
- Rachel Ward won her role in Night School after producer Ruth Avergon spotted her at a New York City casting call; she was then a top fashion model who had never acted in a film, and Night School became her film debut.
