Trailer

Plot summary

In 1942, Finland is fighting the Continuation War as an ally of Nazi Germany. Jews fleeing Hitler's tyranny have come to Helsinki hoping for safety, and Abraham Stiller, a Jewish businessman and philanthropist who is a leading figure in the city's Jewish community, works to protect them. When refugees are seized and sent to labor camps in northern Finland, near the German forces, Stiller goes to see Arno Anthoni, who has just taken charge of the state police, to ask what has become of them. Anthoni refuses to help, and warns that Stiller's efforts put both the refugees and Finland's Jews in danger.
