Plot summary
A team of explorers sets out along the Nile, starting at the Blue Nile's source in Ethiopia and aiming for the Mediterranean Sea. Geologist Pasquale Scaturro and kayaker Gordon Brown lead the group. They travel in 16-foot rafts down 3,260 miles of the longest and deadliest river in the world, a distance no one has yet covered in one journey. The group leaves on December 22, 2003, heading into Ethiopia's desert canyons and extreme whitewater. An IMAX crew films the expedition.
