Plot summary
Samuel Salomon teaches literature and has stayed away from his work for close to a year, grieving the death of his girlfriend. Every night he dreams the same thing: a woman killed in a strange ritual. Then the woman from the dream turns up dead in reality, in the very circumstances he has been seeing in his sleep. Samuel slips into the crime scene, where he runs into Rachel, who tells him she has dreamed of the murder as well. The two set out to learn who the woman was, and their search leads them into a world governed by the Muses, the figures said to have inspired artists across the centuries.
