- In the early days of sound film there was no way to post-dub, so Alfred Hitchcock had Herbert Marshall's voice recorded on a phonograph record and played back during filming, while an orchestra played the radio music live on the set.
- The portrayal of the character Sir John Menier was loosely based on the actor Gerald du Maurier, a friend of Alfred Hitchcock.
