Plot summary
More than a decade of footage recorded in Rockford, Illinois, follows three friends who met through skateboarding as they move into adulthood. Bing Liu, Keire Johnson and Zack Mulligan each grew up in households where they were abused, and skating gave them a way out of those homes. Zack and his partner Nina have a son, and Zack takes work as a roofer to support his family. Keire washes dishes and, after his father dies, carries new responsibilities while also confronting the racism he meets around him. As adult duties mount, the friendship the three have held since their teens comes under strain.
