Plot summary
Dark Meat City is a run-down version of Los Angeles, and Angelino lives there with Vinz, sharing an apartment and keeping cockroaches as pets. While he is out making a delivery, a young woman named Luna catches his eye, and a vehicle hits him. Headaches and hallucinations follow, and monstrous shapes appear to prowl the streets around him. Men in black suits begin to hunt him down, among them a white-suited figure called Bruce. Angelino phones his friend Willy the fruitbat, and he and Vinz hide in Palm Hills, a neighborhood known for crime, while Angelino wonders whether his mind is giving way or something is really happening in the city.
