Plot summary
Joe Bascom trails the con man Harry Lambert to Mexico City. Harry had apparently cheated Joe and some friends in a deal involving oil stock back in the United States. In Mexico City, Harry serves as agent for Mary, Joe's former girlfriend, who now goes by Montana and claims to be a bullfighter. At a bullring during Amigo Americana Week, Mary is to throw her hat out to the crowd, and whoever catches it is proclaimed goodwill ambassador. Harry has arranged for the hat to reach Gus Adamson, another con man, but Mary angrily throws it at Joe. Joe ends up with the title. American authorities are also hunting him over the oil stock case, so in Mexico he goes by the name Humphrey Fish.
