Plot summary
Middle-aged and alienated, Ilie runs the police in a small town. He wants a modest, comfortable life for himself, and he feels the need to be part of something: an orchard, even a home. Dubious things happen in the village, but Ilie sees only what suits him, and he makes the wrong choices. Among the town's residents are its mayor, its priest, and others.
