Plot summary
The Cinema Universale in Oltrarno, Florence, is a meeting place in the 1970s for university students, intellectuals and the working-class families of San Frediano. Their shared screenings set off a creative chaos that plays out around Tommaso, who grows up with a projectionist for a father. Three friends at the center of that world keep separating and coming back to one another, and the theater holds its place as a landmark of the city from the 1960s to the 1980s.
