Plot summary
Mini Mo lives in Japan, far from her Hong Kong home, and depression, low self-esteem and binge eating have pushed her weight to an extreme. After a suicide attempt she meets Fatso, an obese salesman from Hong Kong who works in Japan. Mini tags along with him everywhere, and though he is vexed by her at first, he comes to learn what lies behind her sadness. She cannot forget Kurokawa, her former boyfriend, now a world-famous pianist. Ten years earlier the two had promised to meet beneath Yokohama Marine Tower on the night they parted, and she dreads facing him as she is now. Her story and her gentle manner move Fatso, and he promises to help her shed the weight.
