Plot summary
Susan is a lawyer in Seattle who takes mostly pro bono cases. Her new client, Nick, has gone on 986 dates through the dating website Love, Guaranteed without finding love. The case turns on the site's guarantee of love. To build the case, Susan goes undercover on the site, and her own three dates go badly. She also secretly observes Nick's 1000th date to verify his account. When Susan and Nick meet with the site's founder, Tamara Taylor, and her lawyers, they are offered $100,000 to settle out of court. They decline, and a court date is set for six weeks later.
