Plot summary
Naim Reid and his mother Arlene arrive in a devout evangelical town in Victoria after his father dies. Naim and Ryan Whelan, a local teenager, begin a romance they keep hidden. When Naim sees Ryan kissing the pastor's son, Hunter, jealousy drives him to tell Hunter's parents. Hunter's parents bring in a deliverance healer, who performs a ritual meant to purge the boys. Ryan pulls away afterward and refuses Naim's attempts to make amends. Naim watches him talk to empty air and follows him to a roller rink, where photo booth pictures show Ryan kissing a figure who is not there.
