Plot summary
Villains led by the Joker interrupt a Gotham City award show, robbing the audience and stealing the award, and Bruce Wayne, the evening's honoree, changes into the Batsuit. With Robin he brings down Harley Quinn, the Riddler, Two-Face and the Penguin, then chases the Joker by boat and captures him. The rogues are sent to Arkham Asylum, and Superman arrives to congratulate the pair, which Batman does not welcome. Luthor, who believes the Joker's laughing gas can win him the presidency, frees the Joker from Arkham with the Deconstructor, a kryptonite-powered weapon that unmakes unbreakable black objects, and the Joker uses it to release more inmates before the two escape.
