Plot summary

A legendary warrior, undefeated and long retired, is known to the world only as the Wolf, and few people know his real identity. A young man wants to find him and gets in touch with Wai, who takes him to the fighter. Seeing an old man rather than the fighter he expected, the young man sneers, and Wai answers by telling the story of the Wolf's youth. In that postwar flashback, the young Fung Man-hin drifts through a ravaged farming village with his memory gone, knowing only that he must meet a woman at an abandoned temple. Wai, a local villager, guides him toward the place, while the suspicious villagers follow.
