Komada – A Whisky Family (2023) on Netflix

Plot summary

Rui Komada runs the Komada Distillery, the family business she took over, and she has named its signature whisky Koma. Her father has died, and her brother Kei works at another facility after trouble within the family. Rui intends to put the distillery's finances back in order and to go further than her father did, which means making Koma again. The whisky was dropped from production years ago, and too many of the clues needed to reproduce it are gone. Kotaro Takahashi arrives for a project about Japanese craft whisky, and the revival has to be attempted without the money or the records the job requires.
