Plot summary
Matty Demaret cannot find work because employers are afraid of his father, the mob boss Benny Chains. He does small jobs for Benny, who keeps him away from serious business. With Teddy's help, Matty persuades his father to send him to Spokane for a package, a chance to prove he is ready. He asks his friend Johnny Marbles to fly there, pick up the package and come straight back, stopping only for fuel. In Wibaux, Montana, Johnny sees police checking the office, panics and drops the bag with the baggage being loaded onto a departing flight. He returns to find it gone. Matty brings his friends Chris Scarpa and Taylor Reese to help search for it.
