Plot summary
In 2009, Nur, Widya, Ayu, Bima, Anton and Wahyu come to a remote East Java village for their community service program. The village head, Pak Prabu, tells them never to cross the forbidden gate that divides the village from the forest area Tapak Tilas. The students settle in, yet strange things follow them. Nur and Widya see apparitions while bathing, among them a black shape and a woman in the dress of a Javanese dancer. Widya performs a ritual dance and remembers nothing of it afterward. Nur, troubled by headaches, visits the shaman Mbah Buyut and learns that an old woman's spirit trails her. Bima grows withdrawn and slips away at night, while Anton hears voices and finds offerings hidden under his bed.
