Jalan Pulang (2025) on Netflix

Plot summary

Lastini is grieving her husband, whose death came suddenly and without explanation, when her daughter Arum falls ill. Doctors cannot help, and Lastini comes to think that something supernatural is at work, that another figure is holding Arum's body and endangering her life. She learns that Arum has to be cured before her birthday, which falls in a leap year, and that she has only five days. Together with her two other children, Lia and Rama, she travels the island of Java looking for shamans and wise people said to have the power to heal Arum. The presence gripping Arum makes the journey harder as they go.
