Plot summary
Jungle Jumper is a talking gorilla living in a Chinese monastery, where he learns karate and takes a liking to hats. After he beats his master in a sparring match over a banana, the monastery ships him to the United States as a goodwill gift. Publicity gives him the name King Kung Fu, and he is meant for the New York Zoo, though Wichita, Kansas, is where he is put on show. Two reporters who are out of work free him and plot to catch him themselves, hoping for jobs. Rae Fey, a waitress and model, understands that Fu only wants to see the sights, and her boyfriend, television journalist Bo Burgess, has plans of his own.
