Plot summary
Thinnadu is an atheist tribal hunter who rejects religion after witnessing the sacrifice of his childhood friend. He openly opposes the human slaughtering his tribe practices, a rite spread by the witch Maremma that the members believe is needed for the tribe's existence. When he learns what Bebbuli, the son of the chieftain Mundadu, intends for Nemali, his girlfriend, he thrashes him, and his father Nathanathudu drives Thinnadu and Nemali out of the clan. A bandit leader named Kala Mukha and his men then threaten the sacred Vayulingam, and Thinnadu, exiled with Nemali, has to work out what he believes.
