Plot summary
Bonnie, Juliet and Venus are high school classmates in their last year together. They go on one last picnic before the examinations, and a storm forces the three of them to wait it out in an abandoned temple. There Bonnie takes an old rope, meaning to use it on her torn backpack. Back at school, the rope brings Scholar Pik, a Ching Dynasty scholar whose habits belong to a far older century. He and the girls do not share the same values, but they become friends, and he helps them with their daily troubles, though his remedies do not always go as the girls intend.
