Plot summary
In an English auction room, a young businessman buys an ancient corpse and discovers it is the body of his third great-grandfather. He wants to bury it properly in Hong Kong, so he hires a good-natured Taoist priest to keep it from turning into an irrepressible vampire, using a yellow talisman. The two of them book a private charter flight home with the body. Over Africa the plane malfunctions, and a fight breaks out with the pilot; the passengers and the corpse are separated as they go down by parachute. The corpse comes down in front of Xixo, a bushman whose tribe takes it as a gift from the gods, while the descendant and the priest come down far away and must cross unfamiliar country to find it.

Can contain spoilers, watch the movie first.
- Crazy Safari was shot twice: after performing each scene in Cantonese, the same actors and crew did it again in English, because the film was expected to be popular worldwide and dubbing was not desired.
- The English version of Crazy Safari is not a dub but a separate filming with partially different actors: some scenes use different actors, some actors take on different roles, and the two versions run at different lengths.
