Plot summary
During World War II, Colonel Steve Trevor asks President Roosevelt to commit the United States by assembling a team of superhumans, and the Justice Society of America forms under Wonder Woman's command, with Trevor, Black Canary, Hawkman, Hourman, and Jay Garrick in its ranks. In the present, Barry Allen and Iris West set out for a picnic in Metropolis, hoping for a break from work, and Superman's clash with Brainiac interrupts them. Allen joins the fight as the Flash and races to intercept a Kryptonite bullet, reaching a speed that channels the Speed Force. A voice guides him into the middle of a battle between the Justice Society and Nazi soldiers, which he believes to be the past. The Society accepts him as an ally who appears to come from the future.
