Plot summary
Kyôko Suzuki is sensitive to things others do not notice. Her brother Tatsuya Suzuki works in real estate. At his request she goes with him to look over a house he means to put up for sale, the Saeki house. The house is tied to the Saeki family: the teacher Shunsuke Kobayashi once called there, found his student Toshio Saeki alone, and came upon the body of Toshio's mother Kayako Saeki in the attic. Takeo Saeki, her husband, telephoned him. The house carries a curse that reaches those who enter.
