Plot summary
Recordings of Joe Cocker's own voice and rare archive material carry much of the account of his life, alongside memories from his wife Pam Cocker, other family members, friends, and the songwriters and musicians he worked with. The singer came from Sheffield, where he fitted gas lines before stardom found him. His set at Woodstock in 1969, built around A Little Help from My Friends, made his name around the world. Trouble followed in the early 1970s, when alcohol and drugs took a heavy toll and his inner struggles nearly ended his life. Live performances filmed over the years appear throughout.
