Plot summary
Jeremiah grows up in Anathoth, a village near Jerusalem, in a priest's family. God comes to him on several occasions, each time in the likeness of a different person, and lets him know that he has been chosen to bring God's word to the people of Jerusalem. Jeremiah takes up the task of calling the Kingdom of Judah away from its wrongdoing. Laymen and leaders alike reject him. Political leaders and false prophets oppose his warnings and try to silence him, and he continues speaking at risk to himself. Others are drawn to join him in the work he has been given.
