Plot summary
Privates Philbrick and Penn pull monotonous duty at Fort Nicholson, an Army base near the Nicholson Mesa. A newly found cavern needs inspecting, and the pair joins an expeditionary squad, only to lose contact with the other soldiers. Vegetable creatures drag the two inside, and the cavern is a base for aliens from the planet Kalar. Its commanders are two statuesque women, Dr. Puna and Professor Tanga, who intend to conquer Earth. They want the earthling soldiers studied, and Puna's extra-sensory powers include sending electric shocks through men; she also has a ray gun that causes terror.
