Plot summary
Bob Ford, wounded in a bank robbery, mends for six months at the home of Jesse James in St. Joseph, Missouri, where Jesse's wife Zee does not trust him. The actress Cynthy Waters, whom Bob loves, arrives in town for a stage engagement, and he is jealous to find her speaking with John Kelley, a prospector. Cynthy wants marriage and a settled home, and Bob has no money for land. In need of money, Bob hears that the governor has posted a ten thousand dollar reward for Jesse and realizes the money could buy land for a farm and begin a family.
