Plot summary
Thanksgiving at the Carver house ends with the news that the parents of Justin's friend Bobby are getting a divorce. After overhearing an argument between his own parents, Stephanie and David, Justin goes up to his room. A short while later he looks down from the stairs and sees his mother in a romantic embrace with Santa Claus. He photographs them, shows the picture to Bobby, and mails it to Mrs. Claus. Thinking his mother is having an affair and that Santa means to take her, Justin decides to behave so badly that Santa will not come to the house on Christmas Eve. He rigs traps, throws snowballs at a Santa on the street, and gets in trouble at school.
