Plot summary
Corvette, Mariah and Sade, who call themselves the Velvet Gang, steal regularly from the Metro Designers chain and sell what they take at a discount. Christie Smith, the designer behind the label, treats fashion as transformative art and dismisses the three of them on air. Corvette designs her own clothes and admires Christie, and she slips into Christie's office hidden in a coffee cart, hearing her mention suits that cost $100,000. Caught on the way out, Corvette gives a false name and says she designs clothes too. The gang then take jobs at one of the chain's stores, intending to clear out its stock, and Corvette sees that a new Christie item matches one of her own designs.
