Did you know?!Facts and trivia about Cheech & Chong's Next Movie (1980)
Can contain spoilers, watch the movie first.
- For television, the film had to cut every sequence in which characters are seen smoking cannabis, and the version was filled out with extended and additional scenes, alternate dialogue and a different music score.
- In the television cut's added opening, extraterrestrials come to Earth hunting diamonds, "the principal source of energy" on their planet Asp, and the flying saucer shots were lifted from The Thing, another Universal film, which is why that saucer looks unlike every other exterior shot of it.
SPOILER
The television edit completely redubbed the ending: Chong tells Cheech the extraterrestrials taught him how to fly instead of mentioning "space coke", but the shots of Cheech rampaging with the beaker of space coke and blasting through the roof stayed in.
