Plot summary
In Paris, Luis Costa is 43, single, and successful as a creator of perfumes. His mother, Geneviève Costa, and his five sisters, Catherine, Axelle, Carole, Maxine and Marie, form a family council founded by his late father and have decided that he should marry within a year. They keep introducing him to women, and he turns each one down. He learns that a waitress he knows is depressed because her fiancé left her days before their wedding, and from that he conceives a plan: he will pay a woman to play his fiancée and leave him at the altar, so his family stops pressing him. He approaches Emma, the sister of his friend Pierre-Yves. She works on antique furniture and wants to adopt a Brazilian child, and she agrees to the arrangement.
