Veteran Istanbul homicide detective Ferman, his quick-tempered partner İdris and Hasan, a rookie who studied anthropology, are handed the killing of Pamuk, a young woman found cut into pieces. Suspicion falls on her conservative family, who might have acted over honor, on her brothers Abbas and Vakkas, and on Asit Ömer, a drug dealer she had been involved with. Pamuk was also connected to Battal Çolakzade, a wealthy businessman who had married her as his second wife. Ferman cares for his own sick wife, İdris cannot let go of his former wife Asiye, and Hasan struggles with homicide work.
