Plot summary
Mehmet II ascended the Ottoman throne as a boy, lost it when his father Murad II took it back, and governed the Sanjak of Saruhan. Murad's death brings him the throne a second time, and he holds that the conquest of Constantinople is his destiny. He tells the Papal States, Hungary, Serbia, Poland, Genoa and Venice that he wants peace, and he restores the dockyard at Gallipoli, where a hundred galleys can be built in a year. Emperor Constantine XI judges him inexperienced, demands heavy payments, and uses the captive Prince Orhan against him. Mehmet appears to accept them.

- Before its release, Fetih 1453 caused outrage in Greece, where many accused it of racism and of distorting historical facts, and the Greek newspaper Proto Thema called it "a conquest propaganda by the Turks".
