Plot summary
Hubert Selby Jr. wrote controversial novels including Last Exit To Brooklyn and Requiem For A Dream. This documentary looks at his life and art through interviews with Selby and others. He called himself a scream looking for a mouth. He faced tuberculosis, drug addiction, and financial ruin. The title It/ll Be Better Tomorrow comes from his novel The Demon. The slash replaces an apostrophe because Selby preferred typing a slash on his manual typewriter rather than an uppercase 8, and he objected to apostrophes, spelling dont instead of don't.
